Repair Café is coming to Idea Exchange Preston. Repair Café is a movement, started in the Netherlands that promotes a community approach to learning repair skills. The philosophy of the movement is in their slogan “Toss it? No way!” Too often, in the West, we fill our landfills with items that with a little know how, could be repaired and reused. The Repair Café movement believes the skills needed to repair common household items exist in every community. The challenge is to provide a venue to share these skills within the community. Their mission is to bring need into contact with ability.
On Saturday, October 21st, from 1:00 until 5:00, Idea Exchange, Preston, will be hosting a Repair Café. We will have experts in the area of clothing, jewelry, small appliances and electronics repair on hand to help you to either repair your broken item, or give you advice on next steps. Be sure to sign up for this free event online or at any Idea Exchange location.
