Active Play Everyday!

Be Creative!

  • Four children on a swing

We love it when kids get active and moving! All children and babies learn by doing, and active play experiences help teach physical literacy. Children learn by moving their bodies – whether it is dancing to music or playing in the grass. We’ve got lots of opportunities for active play at Idea Exchange!

For the little ones we’ve got Explore on the Floor at all locations. Let your little one play, discover, and explore in a variety of fun-filled, hands-on learning activity centres throughout the library floor. For a baby, active play may be reaching for a toy or crawling through a play tunnel.

Children under three will love Stories and Stretches with a combination of stories, movement activities and FUN! Children learn gross motor skills while stretching out and grooving along with the songs and stories.

We know you want to play on PD DAYS! We’ve got so many Egg-citing Stay and Play activities on Friday, April 7!  And on Friday, May 5 check out our locations for fun active play PD Day activities inside and outside the building!

Join us for the launch of the Heart of Community at Clemens Mill on Tuesday, May 30. Explore on the Grass in the morning has activity stations set up outside on the grass for a really fun sensory experience. Family Field Games has games for the whole family! Test out our new line-up of soccer balls, basketballs and other sports equipment you can check out with your Idea Exchange card at Clemens Mill!

All this and more awaits your little one this Spring! Be sure to register for Kids Spring Programs on Monday, March 27 and check out our calendar for drop-in programs starting in April.

Get active and move yourself over to Idea Exchange this Spring!
