At Idea Exchange, we LOVE STEAM – so we are SO excited about National S.T.E.A.M. day, which takes place this year on Wednesday, November 8. This day aims to encourage kids to discover and pursue their interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math skills in fun and creative ways.
Worldwide, science and engineering careers are growing 70% faster than other occupations. In response, education partners (including Idea Exchange) are introducing STEAM concepts to kids at an early age. Schools across Canada and the United States are already increasing their focus on STEAM subjects to help students gain the skills required to succeed in today’s economic climate.
So, what STEAM programming does Idea Exchange offer? We work hard to incorporate STEAM materials into all of our preschool programs, using materials such as iPads, building toys, and interactive science models to enhance station-based activities. In our afterschool programs, such as The 4 PM project and WonderWorks: STEM Edition, we explore, create, and construct with the latest cutting edge robotics and tech toys for kids.
Additionally, you can celebrate STEAM day on Wednesday, November 8, with STEAM Storytime taking place from 6:30-7:00 pm at Queen’s Square, where programmers use songs, stories, games, and crafts to help kids explore all aspects of STEAM.
