Description:

The trend of raising backyard chickens is growing as people become more interested in knowing where their food comes from. Not only is it a rewarding experience, but also a great way to teach kids about nature, agriculture, and the responsibility of caring for animals. Join Alayne Fulton Kleser to learn the ins and outs of this wonderful hobby!

Alayne spearheaded the effort to legalize hens in Kitchener and currently has 6 hens in her own backyard. She is the administrator for the Kitchener Urban Hens Facebook group and website, where she helps share information on the process of keeping backyard hens. She also organizes the wildly successful Annual Coop Tour in an effort to help educate people on the topic of backyard hens.
