March is here which means spring is just around the corner! Check out the many spring-inspired events happening at Idea Exchange this month to get you in the mood for the new season. Read on for a few highlights.
Back by popular demand, Cambridge Third Age Learning returns with another insightful lecture on Thursday, March 9 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Trillium United Church in Preston. George Breckenridge, associate professor of political science from McMaster University, leads what is sure to be an engaging talk titled The Causes and Consequences of Donald Trump. CTAL lectures are always hit so don't forget to register in advance!
Usher in the spring season with some warm stories. Join our World Storytelling Day on Sunday, March 19 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Queen’s Square with Carol Leigh Wehking, Michele Braniff and friends of FRESH stories as they present the 2017 theme of Transformation as part of this annual global March equinox celebration.
Revel in the creativity of young artists at Idea Exchange: the Brush Off Junior on Wednesday, March 22 from 6:00 – 8:30pm at Queen’s Square. A group of talented Cambridge artists aged 14 to 19 are set to compete in two rounds of exciting and friendly live-painting competition. Come experience the intensity of the creative process and cheer on your favourite artist!
Calling for all guitarists! BYOGuitar and head to the Musical Lives Classical Guitar Open Mic on Sunday, March 26 from 2:00 – 3:00pm at Queen’s Square. The event begins with a concert portion featuring members of Open Mic Guild for Classical Guitar, Guitar Society of Brantford, KW Guitar Orchestra and local musicians. The open mic portion follows and is open to all guitarists.
