Programs + Events | November 1, 2017

This month, Idea Exchange has a full slate of programs available to our community, with both performances and programs for members. Check out the monthly calendar for a full listing of events, and read on for some of the highlights!

On Wednesday, November 1, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Queen’s Square, the kick-off event for NANOWRIMO is taking place. A must-attend for all aspiring authors, NANOWRIMO (National Novel Writing Month) is a worldwide event that provides motivation and inspiration for those who have always wanted to write a book, but just never got around to it. Everyone is welcome at this free event, and those who participate will have the chance to win a personalized book cover!

There is no better place to be then Downtown Galt on Remembrance Day. Join hundreds of people who will gather at the cenotaph on Saturday, November 11, from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, to remember Canadian veterans. Music and refreshments will be available before and after the service at our Queen’s Square branch, which is adjacent to the cenotaph. If you’re prefer to watch while indoors, the service will also be broadcast inside our location. This event will feature music by pianist Brian Garner and refreshments by Monigram Coffee Roasters.

Those interested in supporting local authors will enjoy the conversation, “Dreams to Reality,” taking place on Thursday, November 16, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, at Hespeler. Medium and empath, Emma Smallbone, along with a panel of Cambridge authors, will discuss how tuning into your intuition, listening to messages from the universe, and following your heart can help make your dreams a reality. Confirmed authors include Debby Spitzig, Karen Gordon, Lynda MacKay and Claudette Snow.

A short and sweet holiday play will be taking place at Hespeler on Friday, November 24, with performances at both 6:15 and 7:30 pm. This funny play showcases the cumulative efforts of local teens who participated in the Acting Out Teen Drama program at Hespeler, and will be a fun event for the whole family to enjoy!

We’re looking forward to seeing you in November at Idea Exchange!
