If you’re a fan of classical music, have you taken a deeper look at Freegal?

Every year end, there are many lists of the best classical music from the past year. Gramophone Magazine, BBC Music Magazine, and others have listened to and sorted the best the year has to offer.

Are you aware that many of these titles are available for download or music streaming though Freegal? Here are some of those winning titles:

Want to hear Brahms and Bruckner Motets from Nigel Short? The Smetana String Quartets as performed by the Pavel Haas Quartet and Vivaldi as performed by the brilliant violinist Rachel Podger both made the BBC best of list. Gramophone winners include Rachel Podger playing Biber (she had a very prolific year) and Igor Levitt’s Bach, Beethoven, Rzewski variations.

Every week there are new releases and many of them are classical. Some are new releases like the ones mentioned above, and some are older catalogue titles becoming available, sometimes for the first time.

So, while we may not have an unlimited budget to buy CDs, we do have a large and deep collection of Classical titles to stream and download on Freegal.
