We all know that reading books can evoke strong emotions. Sometimes a book grabs us and doesn’t let go, even long after we have turned the last page. Other times a book is so hard to read that we just can’t finish it. Once in a while a special book comes along and totally changes our lives. We want to know all about the books you are reading, whether you liked, loved or loathed them.
Did you know you can easily tell others about what you been reading by writing a review on our website? Here’s how to do it:
1. Search our catalogue on a computer (sorry, phones won't work) to find the item you want to review. It doesn’t just have to be books – we’d love to know your opinions on music and movies too! Once you’ve found the item you want to write about, click on the title of the item to open the record. On the right hand side of the page, you will see a heading called User Reviews, and under that, a grey button with a star and the words “Add Review”. Click on that button.
3. Next, the title and author/artist of the item should already be visible in the first two boxes. You can now decide how many stars you think the item is worth (out of 5!), and where the item belongs in our collection. Don’t forget to include your name and home library location and then you are ready to write your review!
4. The last step after you’ve written your review is to complete the CAPTCHA question (so we know you aren’t a robot!) and click Submit. Your review will appear on the website almost immediately. Feel free to tell us all about the great (and not-so-great) movies, books and music you’ve encountered. And, you can read other people's reviews on the Reviews page; you might discover your next favourite title!
