Find a canoe, float down the river, and fish for a poem -- it’s Poetry Month!  We are very pleased to showcase our winning poets from our Poem-A-Day contest. You may read or listen to the poets read their winning poems here. Many thanks to our judges, Becky Alexander, Janice Lee, and Tara Mondou for their expertise and work well done.

The Poetry Celebration was held on April 21, 2017. The winning poets read and recorded their poems, refreshments were provided, and everyone was welcome to come and enjoy some poetry.

The League of Canadian Poets  has designated this year’s theme as Time.  At Idea Exchange, we are celebrating time as an anniversary, the sesquicentennial anniversary of Canadian Confederation.  It’s time to celebrate our favorite Canadian poets: Leonard Cohen, Margaret Atwood, Dennis Lee, E. Pauline Johnson and John McCrae.  Don’t forget to check out our lists of poetry by local writers and our favorite books of poetry.

Think Canadian, put a poem in your pocket and enjoy Poetry Month.
