Winner of the 2015 Sundance Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award, there’s a lot to like about this funny, endearing coming-of-age movie. Greg is an awkward high school senior who just wants to slide under the radar and make horribly awesome movie parodies with his “co-worker” Earl. Really Earl is his only friend until his mom forces him to visit a classmate named Rachel who has leukemia. Never cloying or melodramatic, this is a unique film with a lot of charm, insight and poignancy.
