Special Events Team

Volunteer Impact:

Support the arts and help Cambridge’s culture and creativity thrive. The Special Events Team provide volunteer support during our gallery exhibition openings, concerts, Cineseries programs and other special events.

Activities:
  • Assist in the set-up of the venue for the event
  • Provide patron/client services for the duration of the event as required by the event
  • Monitor visitors' activities to ensure compliance with establishment or tour regulations and safety
  • Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor and senior management.
  • Provide a warm welcome to Idea Exchange events
Time Required: Commit to those events you can fit into your schedule
Commitment: Six months
 
Schedule: Schedule dictated by event and event preparation needs
Location: Any location
 

Volunteer Qualifications

  • Ability to work well with others, including clients, vendors, the public, volunteers, and staff;
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; detail orientation;
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include weekends and some nights;
  • Comfort working with cash systems would be an asset
  • Smart Serve certification is a valuable asset
Training & Support: Staff will be on hand to train and supervise
