Meet Carolyn Riddell, the featured printmaker at our 2016 Printmaker's Popup biennial event (formerly the annual Printmaking Fair + Sale). Carolyn was born in Kitchener in 1961. She completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Guelph in 1985, where she specialized in printmaking and painting. She has traveled extensively throughout Canada, Europe (including bicycle tours of England, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, the former Yugoslavia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands). Recent ventures have taken her twice to India for the purposes of exhibiting and to travel through Rajasthan and Gujarat. Carolyn has taught children’s and adult art programs since 1988 in various museums, schools and workshop venues. She is a printmaking instructor at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Cambridge Galleries, as well as in her own spacious studio. Her work is presented in public, private and corporate collections in North America, Europe and Asia. She currently resides and maintains her studio practice in Guelph.
