Marcie Bronson comes to Cambridge Art Galleries | Idea Exchange from Rodman Hall Art Centre/Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario where she was most recently Acting Director and Curator. Prioritizing experimentation and collaboration, she has focused on site-responsive exhibitions and intensive exhibition-based community outreach projects. Marcie's work has been recognized by the Ontario Association of Art Galleries, receiving awards for Exhibition of the Year in 2014 and 2017, and the 2019 Strategic Partnership Award for work with Willow Arts Community to provide free arts training to individuals living with mental illness and substance abuse. In 2017 she was also presented with the city of St. Catharines' Making a Difference Award for her leadership and contribution to the arts community. Marcie holds an M.A. in art history from York University and a B.A. in art history from McMaster University. She has taught in the Centre for Studies in Arts and Culture at Brock University, served on the St. Catharines Public Art Advisory Committee, and has been a member of numerous art selection juries.
Marcie has already begun her work at Cambridge Art Galleries | Idea Exchange and we are excited to welcome her to Cambridge. The community will have a chance to meet her during the Virtual Opening Reception for Fibreworks 2020.
