Denise Philippon was born in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec in 1933. She attended the École des Beaux-Arts, Quebec from 1956-1959 where she studied weaving, spinning and dyeing. Philippon has had her textile work exhibited frequently in Quebec, and was included in shows travelling to Ontario. Among other exhibits, her work was featured in the Montreal Tapestry Biennials in 1981 and 1984, and the Arts Forum Pavilion, Man and his World in Montreal, 1981. Her work can be found in the permanent collection of the Palais des Congres in Montreal.
