Melinda Mayhall is a Toronto-based mixed media and fibre artist. She began her career as a contemporary basket maker and instructor, sometimes using non-traditional techniques. Her basketry is often made of reed and is often multi-coloured. Over the years, her work has turned to mixed media; using beads, paper and found objects, and her pieces have become smaller and more monochromatic. She has received the John Mather Award for lifetime achievement from the Ontario Arts Council and her work has been exhibited in the Textile Museum of Canada and the New Gallery in Toronto.
