Sabina graduated in architecture and founded her studio in 1993. Born in Vancouver, BC, Hill is inspired by the ocean and forest culture of the Pacific Northwest. As she sought to create works with a distinctly regional design aesthetic, envisioning a collaboration with those who have been bringing the spirit of the land to surface through art for thousands of years, she began to connect professionally with First Nations artists in 2000.
Best known for her original custom furniture, art and installations, Hill merges the rich mythology of West Coast Aboriginal culture with a contemproary design esthetic. Working in collaboration with Aboriginal artists, her work celebrates the convergence of two distinct design cultures. Imbued with the spirit of our shared Pacific Northwest culture, Hill's work showcases First Nations motifs, extending their cross-culrutal appeal, and demonstrating a powerful and poignant legacy of cooperation between two cultures.
