Design = Everything. From the most banal object to the most sophisticated technology. Ideas, materials, processes, systems, things.

Design impacts our lives every day. Some of it involves rocket science, some may be purely decorative. However, because it is so ubiquitous, we often take design for granted. Discovering more about design and the people and forces that drive it is what Design at Riverside is all about. It is a specialized gallery dedicated exclusively to design related exhibitions, publications, events and education. Design at Riverside is one of only a handful of such galleries nation-wide and the only municipal gallery of its kind in Canada.

Design at Riverside takes the point of view that good design will engage, intrigue and entertain you.  It will be thought provoking, will often compel you to seek out more, and may ultimately steal your heart.  Design at Riverside makes a wide range of top notch national and international design work highly accessible, but also asks its visitors to consciously consider design.

More visitors, more demand for tours and classes, more events, more challenging work on view every year.  As we mark the 10th Anniversary of Design at Riverside, we hope you’ll join us.
