Wild Apartment Garden Romance

 wild apartment garden romance,

sit in your chair and sigh,

the highest tall grass

will touch your thigh

but only for the apartment

will you have eyes

watching you

watching it

in my natural garden

in lawn chairs i have known

the wildest artificial

pleasures, the

fantasies I control

facing you

facing it

where do you come home

are you part of the meadow

natural human can you

face the unknown, or

your order imposed

watching it

watching you

Our project was to be an audience for the apartment, a place in nature to turn our gaze to the artificial, reversing the usual view of the romanticized picturesque, when the landscape is created to serve the human gaze. In our installation, we invite humans to enter the wild growing field , have a seat on this familiar element (the lawn chair) in an unfamiliar setting (the field) and look as a reflection of itself, of human creation, standing out in the landscape.
