I just love when it starts to get warmer outside. The birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and the warm breeze feels wonderful on my face. Warm weather also means I can sit outside for my lunch break. It has become a weekly summer tradition for me to walk over to Galt Juice, grab a tasty (and healthy) smoothie with a delicious wrap, and then sit by the fountain and read a book or just people watch.
One of the things that I love most about working downtown is that I have been able to stumble upon all these fabulous local businesses in the area and Galt Juice Company is one of them. Madison opened the Galt Juice Company in 2015 and we are glad that she did. They have lots of yummy drinks and food available for those who are looking to satisfy their cravings.
Madison was kind enough to send us a video talking about her business and how she has adapted her business during these challenging time.
Even though you cannot go into the store, Galt Juice Company is still virtually open for business. You can check out their website for products that are available for curbside pick-up or delivery.
While enjoying a bottle of Galt Juice Company’s cold press juice you can expand your knowledge of superfoods by browsing through Idea Exchange's online resources. Through Kanopy, you can stream a cooking show called Everyday Gourmet. This cooking series combines food nutrient information with recipes and cooking tips that maximize food taste and nutrient value.
Our Download Library has a number of titles listed under superfoods that includes paleo and vegan cookbooks. As the warm temperatures continue to climb, you can switch from bread making by pulling out the blender and expanding your kitchen skills with an online smoothie book. Here’s one of our favourite eBooks on healthy eating: Super Clean Super Food.
If you enjoy a good cooking magazine to help integrate new foods and recipes into your cooking repertoire, we have two options. RB Digital carries several magazines that you would typically find in your grocery story checkout lane. PressReader gives you access to magazines and newspapers from around the world. Both magazine readers have options to enlarge the article you are reading as well as a print feature if you desire to copy out a recipe to try! Here is one of our go-to magazines, available in PressReader: Clean Living.
