"The two things you can’t fake are good food and good music." – Etta James

Idea Exchange’s next big virtual concert is the Music on the Grand, set to begin Thursday, July 23 at 7:00pm through our Facebook page. We are featuring four local musicians who will be providing the good music for the evening.

We have arranged the good music, you can arrange for some good food from one of our community restaurants who have been providing take out during the recent shutdown and staged re-openings. Across Cambridge we have a wide range of cuisines that can be picked up or delivered.

Four Fathers Brewing Co. is located at the north end of town. Four Fathers started with four hockey dads venturing into the world of craft brewing. They have expanded with a tasty little menu of nachos and more at their 125 Guelph Ave. location.

Silver Spoons Caribbean Cuisine, located at 656 King St. East, has been bring some island flavours to Cambridge for almost two years. The jerk chicken is their most popular item on the menu that also includes patties and plantains. For those feeling adventurous, there is also oxtail and curried goat available.

The Cambridge Restaurant, located at 752 King St. East, comes highly recommended by our Preston Staff! They have a long list of popular items, from their Nova Scotia Donairs to their sandwich plates. To finish the meal off you can include a homemade dessert of either pie, cheesecake or a crumble.

Nagano Sushi: Japanese & Korean Restaurant, 10 Pinebush Road, has a wide selection of menu items from Korean shot ribs to spicy seafood sushi items. If you are new to the world of sushi, they have 10 Bento Box selections to choose from that can introduce you to the most popular items.

Tony’s Diner is located at the south end of town at 195 Franklin Blvd. since 2013. This family business has a large range of diner fare from all day breakfast to their ever-popular Slovakia Dinners. My teenage son proclaims their cheese burgers are the best!

Mama Jean’s Kitchen is the new Chinese Food Restaurant in town, open less than 2 years at 65 Water St. North. Jean’s passion for cooking inspired this family to open a restaurant here after moving from Hong Kong. The menu includes all the popular Chinese dishes from Spicy Kung Pao Chicken to Honey Garlic ribs. The dinner combos allow you to mix and match from four categories.

M&M Bar and Grill, located at 475 Main St., has been in the same family since 1979. During the recent shutdown, they put their ever-popular wings on as a daily special.  There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy from antojitos in the appetizers to wraps, burgers and chili in the entrees.

If you want to make a good drink at home to go with your evening, our Download Library has both alcohol-based and smoothie beverage books for you to download. Or, you can search our catalogue for either a book on alcohol cocktails or non-alcoholic drinks and place a hold. For up-to-date Idea Exchange location hours, visit our contact page for Pick-up Service and Open hours. We ask that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing during this time.

Latinoamerica Unida on Concession in Galt has been my go-to for takeout during the pandemic, I go there every week. Which is exactly what I was doing before the shutdown and will also hopefully be doing once this is all just a painful memory! Awesome mexican food, highly recommend the chicken tacos, tacos de carnitas (pulled pork) and chicken enchiladas.
