Spring is finally here – for real this time! Are you ready for the sun to be warmer and the days to be longer? Because we definitely are.

With winter lasting longer than anyone truly wanted, it’s time to shake off those winter blues and start celebrating spring! And what better way to celebrate than at Idea Exchange, Preston’s Planting Day on Saturday, May 26 from 10:30 – 11:30am.

Planting Day is the perfect way to liven up our surroundings by planting beautiful, bold and bright flowers as well as carrots, lettuce, corns, beans and tomatoes in Preston’s garden. And you don’t need to worry about bringing any supplies, we’ll provide everything you need from gardening gloves to watering cans. We will have outdoor activities as well, giving the community a chance to embrace all spring has to offer.

Get ready to feel the warmth on your skin, get your hands in some soil and get planting. It’s the perfect opportunity to forget about winter and get involved with all things spring related at Idea Exchange.

Once Planting Day is over, the fun still continues as the garden will be open to everyone! It gives our community a chance to watch the garden grow. Kids will can come back and see how the seeds they planted are growing, and help us with harvesting once their veggie has grown. Then they can bring it home for the family to enjoy!

Our Preston location is also home to a free Seed Library, where you can browse and choose from a wide variety of quality seeds. Take some, plant some, grow some and (eventually) save some seeds to give back!  We also have free garden tools to borrow, resources and ongoing workshops to support learning about seed saving and gardening.
