For Ava, age four, the library is the only place to be this summer. Ava has been coming to the library for three years of her life, reading and playing with her brothers to her heart’s content. However, this year the library got even better for Ava when she joined the Summer Reading Club!

Attending every day with her babysitter, Kate, Ava carries on a legacy. Kate and her brother participated in the Summer Reading Club and were eager to expose Ava to the excitement that the program and the library brought to their summers. Ava’s favourite book is The Wheels on the Bus by Eric Litwin and James Dean because she adores the antics of Pete the Cat and loves riding on the school bus.

Always one of the first to run up to the desk, Ava’s friendly, sweet nature rubs off on the other kids around her. Even when she’s finished her daily visit, she stays for hours afterwards, playing with blocks and games. With her contagious smile, Ava brings so much joy to the program, whether she is participating or off somewhere colouring.

Ava thoughts are fueled by her quirky imagination; while Ava enjoys building fortresses and fighting dragons aside her trusty unicorn sidekick, she admits that Pokemon has a special place in her heart. Thank you, Ava, for your radiant smiles and jovial attitude –you make the Summer Reading Club a joy!
