The snowy cold winter is officially upon us with no end in sight. Try to embrace the season by getting outdoors and trying new winter activities with the whole family. You have probably tried and enjoyed the traditional winter activities like tobogganing, skating and building snowmen but this season it may be time to branch out and try something new. Did you know you can try ice fishing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing right down the street? Shades Mill Conservation Area located in the Clemens Mill neighbourhood on Avenue Road offers 10 KM of skiing trails and a 2.5 KM snowshoe loop for you to try out. You can rent all the equipment you need to try these new activities for a small fee. This is a great way to get some exercise, get outdoors and try something new. Last but not least, don’t forget the best part of any long cold day outdoors….hot cocoa! Yum!
