I LOVE to travel!

I have been very fortunate and been able to visit some wonderful places. However, I’m not always able to go away all the time. Either I have to work, I can’t afford it financially or I simply don’t have the time. When I can’t travel physically, I do it in my head: I read!

I love living vicariously through characters’ adventures in stories. I have never traveled to Asia and yet I feel I have since I’ve read all of the books in the Ava Lee series by Ian Hamilton. This amazing protagonist has been to Hong Kong & China, Indonesia, the Philippians… you get the idea. I’ve also really enjoyed Kevin Kwan’s trilogy which is also based in Asia.

Phaedra Patrick’s character Arthur Pepper travels from India to London to Paris to uncover his late wife’s secrets. I really liked following Arthur on his path to enlightenment.

My latest indulgence was reading Dan Brown’s Origin. This was one of my favourite adventures since the main action takes place in Barcelona. Quite a few years ago, I got to travel to this beautiful city with my husband for his work. Luckily, I had time to explore and discovered how much I love the architect Gaudí’s designs.

So, if like me you can’t travel any time soon, pick up a great read and get transported away!
