International Games Month

You may know that we have an unbeatable selection of books, eAudiobooks, and DVDs that you can borrow with your Idea Exchange membership, but did you know about all of the amazing games you can also borrow? November is International Games Month, so there is no better time to check out the award-winning board games, video games, and gaming programs we offer.

Board Games

Fun fact - we have one of the largest board game collections of any public library in Ontario. With everything from family classics like Monopoly to adult favourites like Catan, we have a game for every type of gamer. Try Cambridgeopoly or Telestrations for fun twists on classic games, or check out titles like Wingspan, Sagrada, or Mysterium for something new. If you’re in a hurry, One Night Ultimate Werewolf is perfect; if you’re not, get lost in Gloomhaven.

Video games

Our collection of video games offers something for all the major game systems. You are in for a magical time with titles like Hogwarts Legacy and Elden Ring. We also have all the latest EA Sports titles like NHL 24 and FC 24, if you want to hit the ice or play The World's Game. For gamers on the go, check out Detective Pikachu Returns or Paw Patrol World, two of our nearly 200 Switch games. You can also borrow a Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite!

Programs and Events for Gaming

There are also plenty of opportunities to play games in our locations. Drop into our monthly Board Game Café at Hespeler to play with friends or go old school at one of our retro gaming events, presented in partnership with OPERANDi Gaming Community.
