Members will notice some changes when they log on to two of our Virtual Library resources, Kanopy and Libby, this fall.
What are Kanopy and Libby?
Kanopy is a video streaming service that lets you watch movies and TV shows at home or on the go with your Idea Exchange membership. From indie hits to Hollywood blockbusters such as Ex Machina or Shakespeare in Love, Kanopy has you covered.
Libby is an app that lets you access eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines on the go with your mobile device. The app lets you read unlimited magazines with no waiting period.
What are the changes?
Introducing Tickets in Kanopy
Starting on November 1, Kanopy will switch from offering six (6) credits per month to 18 tickets per month. Most films and series will cost two tickets to check out, but short films will now cost one ticket. Every title will clearly label its ticket value. This change will let fans enjoy more award-winning shorts.
New Magazine Rack in Libby
Reading eMagazines with Libby has also gotten even better with new one-click checkouts. It’s also easier to subscribe to your favourite magazines - so you never miss a new issue. The new Magazine Rack in your Shelf page will display your checked-out magazines and new issues of titles you subscribe to, keeping your eMagazines separate from eBooks or eAudiobooks. Finally, the newsstand feature of the Magazine Rack makes browsing magazines simpler.
More eMagazines
Searching for more eMagazines? Try PressReader on your computer or mobile device to access exclusive titles like The Economist.
