Are you making Christmas dinner this year? There are many options these days, and opportunities to make new traditions. For example, if your family has always had turkey, but you’re looking for something different, perhaps you’d like to consider some vegetarian options or vegan options for a new, fancy, celebratory meal. Try a nut loaf surrounded by all the regular fare—stuffing, squash or sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and of course pumpkin pie. You might be surprised at how much you like it.

For a more traditional turkey dinner, check out our selected books for great inspiration--you might find some ways to put a new spin on some old favourites. Have a look at some of these festive side dishes to add a little extra colour and beauty to your table.

And don’t forget about the nibbles that come before the main meal to keep everyone happy in the living room. Try a crowd-pleaser like warm spinach dip with tortilla chips or make a cheeseball with crackers or choose one of these other delicious ideas.
