Trish, Old Post Office | November 1, 2018
Hello, my name is Trish. I am sure that some of you recognize me from the other locations. I am proud to say that the Old Post Office location is my new home at Idea Exchange. I have been with Idea Exchange for almost 2 years now, and love every part of our forward thinking approach to children’s learning. Our Old Post Office location is the next step in programming at its best, and I am so excited to be part of that!
Here at the Old Post Office, I work in the Children’s Discovery Centre. I collaborate with amazing staff on planning and facilitating STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, and Math) based programs. I have always been interested in technology, and have worked with children for many years. Now I get to combine these two things to create an exciting and educational experience for school age children.
One of the many things I love about working at Idea Exchange is the freedom I get to be creative! Recently I have begun to design an original program, and I am very excited about the launch of my “The Art of Math” program starting January 2019.
Our STEAMboxes have to be one of my many favourite things about this section of the new digital library. You can check out a box on your library card, take it anywhere in the library, and explore the possibilities! From robotics to the science of electricity, the sky is the limit!
Keep an eye out for me, or any of our other Discovery Centre staff, next time you visit the Old Post Office. Ask us about our weekly 4 PM Project going on now, as well as our up and coming programs, how you can book a class tour, or how you can book out a STEAMbox today!
