I've read arguments for being vegetarian before. In fact, Masson's "The Face of Your Plate" is better in this respect. (He argues for veganism). Where Foer excels is in the the melding of his excellent fiction writing skills with a detailed look at the meat industry. And yes, you may not agree with his assessments, but you certainly cannot pretend to not know about the despicable ways we treat animals we eat.
