I'm not surprised this Hitchcockian thriller set in Tangiers, Morocco during the 1950s is set to become a movie - it's marvelously atmospheric and engaging, stealing you away to a sun-bleached city of twisting alleyways, dark secrets and the threat of revolution. Psychological suspense and seriously twisted friendships abound. Get ready to stay up late turning the pages.
