Description
This work explores the interplay between the body, space and the experience. By using elastic materials, which carry with them the inherent quality of being “stretched”, Perunovich aims to question the notion of boundaries and limitations. She addresses a need of reshaping and redefining the roles and confines which are put upon us by society. Furthermore, the use of fiber based materials presents the opportunity of reexamining the “male” dominated interpretation of the configuration of space.
By constructing architectural, sculptural and virtual environments out of “feminine” material, she aims to create structure, which are not only flexible, vulnerable and open, but also transitory, impermanent and spiritual in nature.
