Who doesn’t love hanging around the kitchen with a new friend? This is one of the things many of us have missed most during these past few months of staying home, and it’s time to indulge. In this one-hour webinar we will introduce you to our neighbour, Ibelemari Kio, and learn about the food from her culture of origin, Nigeria. Together, we will cook a delicious Nigerian meal as we chat about her home country, it’s culture and traditions, and about her experiences settling in Canada.

Ingredients for Nigerian Jollof Rice:
- 4 cups of parboiled rice
- 1 can of crushed tomatoes
- 1 can of tomato paste
- 2 bulbs of onion
- 2 bell peppers
- Vegetable oil
- 2-3 scotch bonnets (optional)
- Broth or water
- Curry powder
- Ginger and garlic (optional)
- Knorr seasoning cubes (you can find this at any African store or your local grocery store)
