Description:

Join us for this sustainability series for makers who love the planet. Learn this ancient visible mending technique to extend the life of your clothes or simply make them more beautiful. Artist Steph Clarke will guide you through all the necessary steps to get stitching like a pro. Suitable for all skill levels. All materials provided.

Steph Clarke is an artist, costume designer, chronic up-cycler, and workshop instructor who is constantly blending the old and the new. Hand her a beat-up leather coat, and she'll hand you back a vest, a pile of change purses, and a notebook cover, and the instructions to do it again yourself. Give her an old pillowcase and an inkjet printer, and she will transform her digital doodles into a fabric colouring book that can be made into custom iron-on patches. As the founder of #PatchesForPads, a portion of the proceeds from her patch and art sales are put towards purchasing menstrual hygiene products for shelters, community groups, and food banks.
