Join Jessica Sheff as she recounts her adventures in New Zealand, where she tried (and failed) to land a role in “The Hobbit.”
In 2011, Jessica was fresh out of university and working at a boring office job. On the other side of the world, Peter Jackson had just begun filming his three-part adaptation of “The Hobbit” ... and he was looking for extras. Knowing she was just short enough to play a dwarf, Jessica obtained a working holiday visa, quit her job, and boarded a 14-hour flight to a brand new country with nothing but a small suitcase and a dream.
This presentation will feature photos and anecdotes from New Zealand, from spotting movie stars in Wellington to sand-surfing in the Northland and paragliding over the mountains of Queenstown.
