Description:

Immigrant settlement workers assist newcomers with their settlement needs. They can help newcomers learn about our culture, find places to learn English, get health care, find a job, find housing, learn about our schools, apply for identification, and more.

Drop in to talk to Khawla Hamoudi. She speaks Arabic. Please contact Khawla for an appointment at khawla.hamoudi [at] ckw.ymca.ca

Khawla's presence at Idea Exchange is courtesy of the Library Settlement Partnerships program (LSP).

LSP services include one-on-one settlement information and referral, group information sessions, and community outreach. Newcomer settlement workers are working out of 49 public library branches in communities with high newcomer populations providing service in a variety of languages based on community needs.

In Cambridge, the Library Settlement Partnership program is a partnership of Idea Exchange, the YMCA’s Immigrant Services Program, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
