Boozhoo! Nodin Ikwe ndizhnikaaz, Mkwa ndodem. My name means Wind Spirit Woman. I am Anishnaabe kwe of the bear clan, Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory. I currently live in Peterborough. I carry traditional life teachings from Elders and knowledge keepers, as well as a bundle of Western formal knowledge. I practice my traditional knowledge and ceremonial ways as I have been taught.
I first waled for the water during the 2017 For the Earth and Water Walk. I joined in Leamington, and was transformed. I have been walking and working for the water since by writing articles about the water walkers, speaking about her spirit, and by teaching and bringing other to honour, love, and respect her. This work for the water I do is for Nibi (Water), for Creation and for the next generations.
I lead the All Nations Grand River Water Walks to bring peoples together to help the spirit of the Grand River. We all need her, she is sacred. Without her, we would not be here. Water is Life!
