“Can we play too?”

It’s a familiar question to staff running the children’s programs here at Idea Exchange, except it’s not just kids asking the question anymore, it’s adults and teens.  And why not?  Anyone that’s ever experienced our summer programs would agree they are a blast.  So why should kids get to have all the fun?

We couldn’t agree more.  We’ve heard your grown-up voices and we have responded with a whole collection of summer activities for adults and teens built around the idea of exploration, creativity, and fun.

In case you need convincing, there’s a lot of evidence that play is good for adults.  According to some studies, play can help relive stress, improve brain function, encourage socialization and feelings of comradery, and there’s even evidence that play can help heal emotional wounds.  For the sake of science, we should all be engaging in a lot more fun.

Interested in unleashing your inner child this summer?  Don’t be shy.  There’s something for everyone.  Stop by one of our five branches to take part in some fun, creative play – for adults!  Here are just a few events you may want to try:
