We’re taking our programs virtual this month at Idea Exchange! Connect online with our staff and other members of the community, all from the comfort of your home. Read on for some highlights, or check out our monthly calendar for the full list of programs we have planned.

Please note that all programs require registration and are delivered through Zoom.

With no set book to read, our UnBook Chats program is all about great conversation! Discuss what you’ve been reading, watching, or listening to while meeting new people in the community. Meetings take place every Wednesday in June. Check the calendar for times.

Discover Patagonia Wildlife in Photos with us on Thursday, June 4 at 7:00pm. Patagonia is a region of incredible beauty with extraordinary wildlife. Led by Paul Gains, this photo presentation will include pictures Paul took during a December 2019 trip to Chilean Patagonia. See photos of Paul’s encounters with Patagonian foxes, Andean condors, an assortment of native bird species and Patagonia’s apex predator (the puma) and hear stories of Paul’s experiences as a journalist.

Interested in preserving your family history? Join us for Capture and Celebrate Your Family History on Tuesday, June 9 from 7:00 – 8:00pm. Hosted by journalist Kevin Swayze, you’ll learn how to capture your family history, interview relatives, and what free resources are available to you to help take on this project.

If you’re a fan of books that deliver chills and thrills, our Killer Crime Club Author Event is for you! On Monday, June 22 at 7:00pm, authors Samantha Bailey, Hannah Mary McKinnon, and Mary Kubica will be talking about their newest books in discussion with moderator Kayleigh Platz. This event will include a Q&A, so come prepared with questions!

Learn the ins and out of reducing, reusing, and recycling at Trash Talk: Zero Waste Panel Discussion on Wednesday, June 24 from 1:00 - 2:00pm. Find out how your choices can affect your garbage and the planet with Region of Waterloo Waste Management, Reep Green Solutions, and Idea Exchange's Emma Campbell.

We look forward to connecting and learning with you virtually this month at Idea Exchange.
