Summertime calls for beach reads that capture your attention and keep you guessing all the way through! Looking for your next read? Join us for Killer Crime Club: Juicy Beach Reads on Saturday, August 8 from 2:00 – 3:00pm to meet authors Adele Parks and Karen Hamilton and hear all about their latest suspense-filled novels. This discussion will be moderated by Kayleigh Platz, with a Q&A to follow.

Cambridge Comic Arts Festival 2020 is here! From Monday, August 10 to Saturday, August 15, celebrate all week with fun activities, programs, talks, and a virtual vendor bazaar. Visit our Cambridge Comic Arts Festival page for all the details.

Join us for another Musical Lives Guitar Open Mic on Sunday, August 9 from 7:00 – 8:00pm. an Enjoy this online classical guitar concert featuring Southern Ontario musicians of all playing levels.

Fibreworks is back for its 18th edition this month, featuring contemporary Canadian fibre art. On Thursday, August 13 from 7:00 – 8:00pm, join us for a virtual opening reception. Learn about and see the art featured in this year’s exhibition and meet Cambridge Art Galleries’ new Director/Curator, Marcie Bowman.

Calling all teens! Test your vocal talents at our singing competition, So You Think You Can Sing?, on Wednesday, August 19 from 3:30 – 5:00pm. The winner will receive a free coaching session with singer, actor, and vocal coach Oriana Abrahamse, and every participant has the chance to be a part of a music video. Note: this program is only for teens ages 13 to 18.

This month, celebrate Emma Donoghue’s newest book: The Pull of the Stars. Discuss this great read with in our book talk with Kayleigh Platz on Tuesday, August 18 from 7:00 – 8:00pm; connect and discuss with fellow book lovers at our Preston Book Club on Friday, August 21 from 10:00 – 11:30am; then hear from the author Emma herself during a live discussion on Tuesday, August 25 from 8:00 – 9:00pm as part of the Eden Mills Writer’s Festival.
