Spring is finally here! If you’ve been hiding from the cold this winter, worry not because we have a ton of great programs at all of our locations to get you and your family out of the house! Check out the monthly calendar for a full listing of events, and read on for some highlights.

Broken toaster? Ripped your favourite shirt? We can help! Instead of throwing out your broken items, bring them to our Repair Café at Preston on Saturday, April 7 from 1:00 – 5:00pm. You’ll learn how to repair the items yourself and save them from the trash can. From clothing and jewelry to small appliances and electronic devices, we’ll show you how to repair it and have fun doing it.

How much do you know about our friendly garden pollinators? We’re talking about bees, of course! Join us for Meet A Maker: Planet of the Apiaries on Tuesday, April 10 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Queen’s Square to meet maker and beekeeper Josh Bean from Planet of the Apiaries. You’ll learn about the basics of beekeeping, different species of bees, and more. You’ll even get to try some honey samples! This program also requires registration.

Earth Day is on April 22! Join us at Preston for our very own celebration: Earth Day Extravaganza! On Sunday, April 22 from 2:00 – 4:00pm, you can pitch in for a neighbourhood clean-up, swap seeds, and plant a seed to take home. This is an all ages event, so come on out with your whole family! Earth-minded organizations like rare Charitable Research Preserve, Seeds of Diversity, Preston Community Garden, and more will be joining in on the fun. This event in is partnership with the Waterloo Global Sciences Initiative.

Do you enjoy playing the guitar or enjoy listening to guitar performances? On Sunday, April 29 from 2:00 – 4:00pm at Preston, come to Musical Lives Classical Guitar Open Mic! This event has a guitar concert featuring Southern Ontario musicians followed by a guitar open mic. This event is free, and food donations are accepted.

We’re looking forward to seeing you in April at Idea Exchange!
