August is here, bringing with it more programs for you to enjoy. We’ve got something for everyone this month, from meeting local makers to comic book activities. Check out the monthly calendar for a full listing of events, and read on for some highlights.
Our Meet A Maker Summer Series continues in August! Join local makers and artists as they showcase their work to inspire you to make your own creations. Meet laser cutting artist Josh Bean on Thursday, August 2 from 6:30 – 7:30pm and learn how to make robots from Cal Raszga on Thursday, August 9 from 6:30 – 7:30pm. Both sessions are drop-in at the Old Post Office.
Comedy in ballet? There are more hilarious moments in ballet than you might expect! Learn how choreographers have used their creativity to bring smiles and laughs to the stage in CTAL: Ballet Laughs. Register now to join us on Thursday, August 9 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Trillium United College for this great talk with Katherine Barber.
Interested in psychics? Join us for My Story: The Barefoot Medium on Wednesday, August 15 from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Preston. Meet Emma Smallbone and hear her tell the story of her evolution as a medium and an empath at this drop-in program.
Calling all comic lovers! Celebrate the 2018 Cambridge Comic Arts Festival with us on Saturday, August 25 from 10:00am – 4:00pm at Queen’s Square. The Cambridge Comic Arts Festival is a day full of free activities and displays designed for comic lovers of all ages. Check out emerging and established comic book artists and vendors, and take photos with some awesome cosplayers!
