Join expert birder David Gascoign for Birds of Waterloo Region on Wednesday, September 18 from 6:30 – 7:30pm at Old Post Office. David will share tips to find both familiar and unfamiliar species, as well as information about the lifestyle, breeding, and more of local birds. A little knowledge goes a long way to help discovering something new. No registration required.
Have you ever heard the saying ‘you are what you eat?’ Learn more about what your body does with what it digests at our Gut Biome Talk led by Dr. Emma Allen-Vercore. This program takes place on Tuesday, September 24 from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Queen’s Square. Emma will discuss the promises, myths, and misconceptions we have about gut science. No registration required.
Recycling is an important step to helping the environment, but when was the last time you brushed up your knowledge on the subject? Come to Trash Talk with WR Waste Management for all things recycling and green bin! This fun, interactive workshop is being held on Wednesday, September 25 from 6:30 – 7:30pm at Preston. Registration is required.
If you’re not sure how to explore the internet safely, then we have the program for you! TELUS Wise Internet Safety for Seniors will engage participants in discussion about navigating our growing digital society safely. This program takes place on Thursday, September 26 from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Clemens Mill and requires registration.
Want to join the popular photo and video sharing social media network that is Instagram? Sign up for Instagram for Seniors on Monday, September 30 from 2:00 – 3:00pm at Hespeler to learn how to create and maintain your own Instagram account. This program also requires registration.
