At Idea Exchange we try to make it easy to find what you’re looking for, but sometimes you need help finding what you want. Our Search page is designed to give you that help. The entries on this page show you that there is More than One Place to Look and make it easy for you to find those places.

The first search box is for our library catalogue. This is where you search for a physical object in one of our buildings – a book, DVD, book on CD etc. Enter your keywords (“Avatar dvd” or Harry Potter) and you will find the items available that match those keywords as well as where you would go to get them. We are happy to show you the best and fastest ways to search – just ask us when you next visit one of our locations.

The second search box is used for finding items on our website itself. For example, if you are looking for the latest information on the Post Office Project simply type Post Office in the website search box. You’ll find all the items on our website that mention the post office. Or if you are a regular follower of the One Book One Community book club that operates in our region entering that phrase will bring up all the latest information.

Next you can search downloadLibrary for any of the ebooks, audio books or streaming video titles that are available to borrow.

The final search box is used for searching articles. Entering keywords in the articles search box will initiate a search across a number of different databases. The articles that are found will come from a wide variety of sources – from electronic versions of books, from magazines or journals, and even from pamphlets and information flyers. It is important to note however that not all of our databases are searched using this box. If you want to search a specific location, try using our list of databases to narrow your search.

The bottom part of our Search page provides direct links to some of the online materials that we provide – ebooks, audiobooks, and streaming video from downloadLibrary as well as magazines from RBdigital [formerly Zinio].
