Happy New Year! It’s 2019 and we’ve got you covered if you resolved to learn a new skill in this year. With plenty of programs this month to help you ring in the New Year, we’ve got something for everyone! Read on for some January highlights, and check out the monthly calendar for a full listing of events.

Can you find the One Ring and destroy it in time? If you’re looking for an escape room adventure, look no further than the Lord of the Rings Escape Room! The Elves have hidden clues to help you, but you only have 45 minutes to solve the puzzles, find the ring and save Middle Earth. This program is at Hespeler from Wednesday, January 2 to Sunday, January 6, and requires registration.

This month, join our YouTube Bootcamp series to learn how to create a successful YouTube channel from scratch or re-brand your existing network! Register for the whole series, or just the sessions that interest you. Part one of the series focuses on creating content, including sessions on Prepping Your Premise (January 2), Pre-Production 101 (January 9), Intro to Audio (January 16), and Audio When Filming (January 23). All sessions take place on Wednesdays at the Old Post Office from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Check out part two of the series on our February calendar here.

Do you need help with your iPad or iPhone? Learn about setting, features, and apps at our iPad and iPhone for Beginners program on Tuesday, January 15 from 2:00 – 4:00pm at Queen’s Square. Does your Android device have you confused? Learn more at Android Tablets and Phones for Beginners on Tuesday, January 22 from 2:00 – 4:00pm at Queen’s Square. Both programs require registration.

If you’re interested in travel, hiking, history, art, faith, or food, you will not want to miss My Story: On the Camino de Santiago! Dave Humphrey will present photos and anecdotes from this life-changing adventure along the coast of Portugal and Spain while taking on the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage in Europe that ends in the northern Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela. This program takes place on Monday, January 21 from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Preston.

The holidays can be a stressful time. Now that January is here, it’s time to relax again. VR for Adults is the perfect way to de-stress with fun, immersive, virtual reality games. This program is at Clemens Mill on Thursday, January 24 from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
