November is here! It’s time for remembrance, cool fall days, and even more programs for you to explore. Try something new this month or indulge in your favourite hobbies – we’ve got something for everyone! Read on for some November highlights, and check out the monthly calendar for a full listing of events.

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)! There’s no better time than now to take on a new challenge by writing a story. Celebrate the start of NaNoWriMo with fellow writers at the Launch event on Thursday, November 1 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Queen’s Square. Get inspired during our weekly write-ins at the following locations/dates: Clemens Mill on Thursday, November 8 from 6:00 – 8:00pm; Hespeler on Saturday, November 17 from 2:00 – 4:00pm; Old Post Office on Tuesday, November 20 from 6:00 – 8:00pm; and Preston on Tuesday, November 27 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Make sure you mark your calendars for our Grand Finale on Saturday, December 1 from 2:00 – 4:00pm! All NaNoWriMo programs are free and drop-in.

Imagine a trip with no expenses, no jet lag, and no sore feet. Register for our Virtual Reality Armchair Travel program at Clemens Mill and you can do just that with the Google Expeditions VR headset! Journey to the Seven Wonders of the World on Wednesday, November 7 from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Explore the hidden depths of the ocean and the Great Barrier Reef on Wednesday, November 21 from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Save the date to be inspired by Canada’s parks and geography on Wednesday, December 12 from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Each program date requires registration.

Calling all quilting enthusiasts! Libs Elliott is coming to the Old Post Office for our next Meet A Maker event on Wednesday, November 21 from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Libs’ quilts are designed using a programming language called Processing, which allows her to generate random compositions from simple geometric patterns and traditional quilt block shapes. You won’t want to miss out on this chance to meet Libs, register now to save your spot.

The holidays are right around the corner and with so much to do in so little time it’s easy to get stressed out. Avoid the stress this year by signing up for our Holiday Organizing program! Join Adeilah Dahlke, Trained Professional Organizer, to get tips and tricks on how to stay organized and be more sustainable so that you can accomplish everything on your to-do list stress free. This program takes place at Preston on Monday, November 26 from 6:30 – 7:30pm. Registration required.

We’re looking forward to seeing you in November at Idea Exchange!
