Fall is officially here, bringing with it more exciting programs the whole family can enjoy. This month, learn from experts in the community in areas like design, 3D printing, and writing. Read on for some October highlights, and check out the monthly calendar for a full listing of events.
Designing or re-designing a space in your home can be a great project to take on, but what happens if you’re not sure what goes well together? Look no further, our Ask A Designer program is coming to the rescue! On Sunday, October 14 from 1:00 – 4:00pm at Idea Exchange, Hespeler, bring your home design dilemmas and get expert advice from a professional.
Repair Café is back! Bring your clothing, jewelry, small appliances and electronic devices that need some TLC to Idea Exchange, Preston on Saturday, October 20 from 1:00 – 5:00pm. Let our experts show you how to repair your items, allowing you to learn something new as well. Register now to book your time slot.
Are you ready for National Novel Writing Month? Take our Writing Workshop: Liars, Cheats & Thieves – Creating Colourful Characters program on Saturday, October 27 at Idea Exchange, Queen’s Square to get you ready for a month of writing. From 1:00 – 4:00pm, you’ll create intriguing characters and begin to sketch out their lives, what adventures might come their way, and possible novel ideas. Make sure you bring a laptop or pen & paper!
Join us for an evening of no-judgement mess making at our Bad Art Exhibit program on Thursday, October 18 from 6:30 – 8:00pm at Idea Exchange, Clemens Mill. The only goal of this program is having fun, focusing on FUN-art instead of FINE-art! Using the available resources, create something silly – the “worst” piece will receive special recognition. Sign up for this program now and get ready to be messy.
Calling all makers! Are you interested in learning more about 3D modelling and printing? We have the course for you: 3D Modelling and 3D Printing for Hobbyists and Enthusiasts. Taught by retired technological educator Ron Hoekstra, this program will introduce you to 3D solid modelling, model editing and 3D printing – and there’s no experience necessary, but please bring your own laptop. This program runs Wednesdays, October 3, 10, and 17, from 6:30 – 8:00pm at Idea Exchange, Old Post Office.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in October at Idea Exchange!
