Ph.D candidate Cam is hopelessly in love with his best friend Beau and plans to keep it a secret. But when Beau is given a cancer diagnosis, their lives are suddenly upturned and everything Cam holds dear is threatened. Canadian author Maria Cichosz’s novel is a deeply philosophical and tender debut about longing and the nature of love and friendship. The characters of Cam and Beau are so lovingly written that you can’t help but think about them long after you have finished reading. Cichosz has announced that there will be a sequel called Middlemen and I, for one, cannot wait to read it!
