Anthropologist David Graeber has made quite a splash with his sweeping historical analysis of debt. He looks at the "myths" of the origins of money and finds them wanting, piling up anthropological study after study. In all, it's a challenging "big picture" read and I recommend it to everyone. Where he goes wrong though, is at the end of the book where he lets his ideological point of view distort the facts. Still, a very thought provoking book.
