Red is an agent from an advanced, tech-driven future. Blue is her enemy, a spy working for a future society called the Garden, where nature reigns supreme. Travelling through time in an endless battle for domination, they begin to exchange letters and to share a mutual respect. Is this how they will lose the Time War? This is a fun, light novella told mainly in poetic letters, with a teasing sense of humour. It’s more of a literary aperitif than a heavy banquet of novel. There isn’t much plot or characterization here, but if you love gorgeous prose and imagery driven by an enjoyable sci-fi premise, this may be the perfect quick read for a Saturday afternoon.
