"Lie With Me" by French author Philippe Besson, translated by Molly Ringwald (yes, the 80s movie star!), is a quick but meaningful read that starts as a reflection of being a gay teenager in 1980s France and delves into the intersection of love and lust in a secretive relationship. The ending, set years later, is haunting and will have you thinking about it for days afterward. The writing is beautifully simple, and reads very much like an evening conversation with an important friend you haven't seen in years.
